How to read the HQ

HQ is the stable entry and routing layer
The HQ explains boundaries, routing and shared architecture. Programs and executable systems operate on their own appropriate surfaces with their own rules and support paths.
The HQ does not execute every workflow
Public explanation and routing belong here. Live agents, APIs, operational tools, flags, calculations and other execution belong on system surfaces rather than being forced into the public publishing layer.
Presence does not imply availability
Concepts, experiments and future bays can be described without implying a launch date, public access or a production commitment.

Current direction

Principles

Keep the public surface lightweight
Use static delivery for static information. Add Workers, APIs or application infrastructure only where execution actually requires them.
Design from the outcome backwards
The useful result comes first. Navigation, automation, data and presentation should exist only where they materially help reach that result.
Separate publishing from systems
Publishing surfaces explain, distribute and establish context. System surfaces calculate, transform, transact, automate or execute.
Build for people and machines
Clear human interfaces and machine-readable structure should reinforce one another rather than becoming separate architectures.
